Unbranded pickle-fork separator tool designed for separating compatible tapered automotive joints, including track rod ends, tie rod ends and certain ball joints.
The forked end is positioned around the joint stud and driven between the joint and its mounting point. The tapered fork progressively forces the two components apart as the tool is struck at the end of the handle.

βοΈ Operating Method
- Remove the joint retaining nut as required by the vehicle repair procedure.
- Position the fork around the tapered joint stud.
- Align the tool so the tapered fork sits between the joint and its mounting surface.
- Strike the end of the handle progressively using a suitable hammer.
- Continue until the tapered joint separates from its mounting point.
Pickle-fork separators can damage the rubber dust boot during removal. This type of tool is therefore most appropriate where the joint is being replaced or where damage to the boot is acceptable.
